The first born in our little group of girls turned 26 years old this past week! Even though it’s the end of the year, Kelli’s birthday always marks the start of all our birthdays for the next year. We have a fun time celebrating another year of wisdom, memories and all the fun to be had in future!
While Kel’s birthday was officially on Monday, we didn’t get together to celebrate till Sunday for a group lunch at Cheesecake Factory in the Anaheim Garden Walk. It might the middle of winter and less than two weeks till Christmas, but it is warm & sunny in Southern California- we took advantage of the beautiful day and sat outside on the patio! With drinks, appetizers and food ordered, we caught up and laughed the afternoon away! To end the day we devoured cupcakes made special for the birthday girl….
There are a couple things about Kelli you should know- she loves the color tiffany’s blue (and Tiffany’s- I mean come one, what girl doesn’t) and all things Christmas related….these cupcakes were my interpretation of her loves! I must admit I was a bad cupcake maker- Kel requested Chocolate Cookie Dough Cupcakes for her birthday celebration, but I decided to go a more Christmasy route to keep in theme with the decorations. The flavor of the cupcakes was Eggnog Cupcakes with Eggnog Frosting….both with a hint of Southern Comfort (love booze cupcakes)!!! For decorations, look closely….
Snowflakes & K’s!!! I bought a new (and oh so beautiful) blue gel paste that made the perfect Tiffany’s hue. For the snowflakes and K’s, I free-hand piped white chocolate on wax paper. Sadly because the day was so HOT, the K’s were “tardy to the party”- they melted!!! Such is life- oh well! Also, you can barely see them but there are white sugar crystals…aka snow…on the cupcakes! Loved the way they came out!
It was a fun day of celebrating our friend’s birthday! Cupcake, I hope you had a fabulous weekend with family and friends- we all love you! 26 WOOT, WOOT!!!
