I Heart Pinterest Party

Happy Heart day to all you little love birds out there! As many of you know this is my favorite time of year. The Christmas decorations come down mid-January and the Valentine’s Day decorations go up! For me, Valentine’s Day is all about the hearts, reds, pinks and cupcakes! I mean come on, my last name is HART! It’s like this holiday was made for me!

To celebrate this year I had a party- what kind of party you ask? An I Heart Pinterest party, of course! If you’re not on Pinterest you probably have a life….because it completely sucks you in! From recipes, to clothing inspiration and funny quotes, Pinterest has it all! You will swear you’ve only been on for a couple minutes, but an hour goes by- it’s crazy! So our party revolved around two aspects of Pinterest: 1) food and 2) crafts! Everyone was asked to bring a Pinterest inspired recipe! Then I provided all the stuff to do several different crafts including Glitter Glam Wine Glasses, Scrapbook Paper Frames and Tile Coasters (the party favorite). And to top it all off, I created a Valentine’s Day themed dessert table. Pretty much everything on the table was hand crafted and baked with love!

The dessert table included Brown Butter Salted Rice Crispy Treats, Pretzel Toffee Brownies, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake Pops, Chocolate drizzled Macaroons, Caramel White Chocolate dipped Pretzel Rods and a Strawberry Ombre Cake! To add alittle fun to the table, I covered glass bottle Watermelon sodas with heart paper and put out ruffle candy dishes filled with Hershey’s Kisses and M&Ms . I found the perfect sign at Target last year to add some glitz to the table and a sweet sign created by The TomKat Studio to finish it all off.

The decorations around the table were simple and inexpensive. A red table cloth from home was topped with heart wrapping paper I found at Target for $1! The hearts hanging above the table were made from wire hangers and red Christmas garland found at the .99 Cent Store for only .39 cents! And can we talk about the silver stands? Those were made with silver glitter buckets and silver charger plates, both found at the .99 cent store. I just glued them together- awesome, right? Also, all the balloons and ribbon were found at the .99 Cent Store as well and made the perfect center piece over our crafting area in the kitchen! Handmade is always so much better! This dessert table was my dreams come true! Couldn’t be happier with the way things turned out!

All the ladies had a great time at the party! We are already talking about having another I Heart Pinterest Party before Christmas so we can make gifts for our friends and family. If you love Pinterest as much as we do, hope you can make it to our next gathering!
