If you’ve seen the movie Steel Magnolias, then you will totally get this cake. If you haven’t seen this movie- stop what you’re doing, rent it and watch it now! Steel Magnolias is a move from 1989 with the tagline, “The funniest movie ever to make you cry.” It has a star studded cast with tons of memorable quotes. One day I happened to quote this movie to Summer (my favorite KBB co-worker), to which she stopped dead in my track and asked if I knew that movie. Ever since we’ve been spouting off lines from that movie!

Red Velvet Armadillo Cake! Ok let’s explain to the people who have yet to see the movie (tisk, tisk). The groom’s cake in the movie is in the shape of a giant armadillo. Better yet, the cake is red velvet so when people are hacking at this thing it’ll look like its bleeding! Classic!

I must admit, it is the ugliest cake I’ve ever made in my life! But Summer laughed out loud when she first saw it…which is all I needed! Of course we served her the butt of the cake, just like the movie, to which she responded with- that’s a nice piece of ass! Only us, Summer! Hope you had a great birthday girl!!!
