Mommy to Bee – what a ridiculously cute baby shower theme!  Last Saturday Mommy Krissy was surprised by her family with this oh so sweet shower! Her sister, Jenna, went all out with all the details for her soon to nephew! Pinterest would be proud!

Now what would a Mommy to Bee Baby Shower be without some bee inspired cupcakes? The four dozen were Vanilla Cupcakes topped with a Honey Buttercream, Lemon Cupcakes filled with a tart Lemon Curd then topped with a Lemon Swiss Meringue and a Chocolate Oreo Cupcakes topped with Cream Cheese frosting. For decorations some of the cupcakes were topped with Custom Cupcake Toppers, Mini Fondant Bees and simple sprinkles. With the black polka dot ribbon cake stand, the whole cupcake table came out better than I expected!

And the pictures just don’t do this party justice. It was so adorable! The shower was held at the Assistance League in Old Towne Orange. Sister Jenna went all out with the decorations. Just imagine black, yellow, polka dot everywhere! There was a sweet candy bar, guess the number of honeycombs, late night diaper message and so much more! The Auntie to Bee did an amazing job!

Camo Cupcakes reporting for duty! Yes, sir you heard me right…Camo Cupcakes! I mean can you even see them? At our office you’re never too old to have an Army Camo Birthday. And that’s just what one of my co-workers received on his special day!

The splotches of green and brown and black and tan are actually Vanilla and Chocolate Cupcake, then topped with Vanilla and Chocolate swirled Frosting! Making cupcakes for males (boys and men) can be such a pain! But of all the cupcakes I’ve made for the boys in my life, these are my favorite! Can’t wait to make them again!!!

Along with three dozen Vanilla Cupcakes topped with Swiss Meringue Buttercream, they ordered two dozen Mini Cheesecakes half with Chocolate Glaze and half with Raspberry Glaze topped with Homemade Whipped Cream. The cupcakes were decorated with Fondant Surf Boards and Sprinkles, while the mini cheesecakes were decorated with flags. Plus I’m totally in love with the chevron cupcake liners!

Wishing the Sanchez family nothing happiness! Congratulations on your little blessing, Cruz! Mavrick and him are so lucky to have you as their mommy!!!

In no particular order, we have Carrot Cupcake Mason Jars, Mini Turtle Cheesecakes and my personal favorite Mini Lemon Meringue Pies. Not shown are the Strawberry Shortcake Kabobs which didn’t debut until later in the evening!  The big hit of the night were the Mini Turtle Cheesecakes- a mini cheese cake drizzled with chocolate and salted caramel, then topped with whipped cream and walnuts!

It has been Mickey MANIA at I Hart Cupcakes! In the past two months I’ve had the opportunity to make Minnie Mouse Cupcakes, Minnie Mouse Cake Pops and now Baby Mickey Mouse Cupcakes. Several lovely ladies put together a simple and sweet Baby Shower for their friend, Megan, who is expecting a little boy! The Baby Mickey Mouse theme was a fun starting point, but check out the end results:

There was tothing but fun cupcake flavors for this baby shower. In total three dozen cupcakes were ordered and each dozen had a different flavor. The first dozen were S’More Cupcakes- graham cracker bottom with rich Chocolate Cake sprinkled graham cracker crumbles and topped with fluffy Marshmallow Frosting. The second dozen were Blue Velvet- a cute twist especially for a baby boy shower! The last dozen cupcakes were extra special as they were a first for I Hart Cupcakes – Gluten Free Cupcakes! As it was the first order, I kept the recipe simple with Vanilla Cupcakes topped with Nutella Frosting. Decorations were kept simple as well with Light Blue Mickey Mouse sprinkles, Fondant Mickey’s and Custom Cupcake Toppers!

Different areas of the garden were sectioned for food, beverages, dining tables, Make Your Own Perfume Bar, opening gifts and (my all-time favorite, EVER) dessert table! Please enjoy:

Have you ever seen something on Pinterest and said, “I have to make that!!!” For me that seems to happen on a daily bases! And it was just a few weeks ago when I came across a darling picture of cupcakes assembled to look like a bridal dress. Of course I pinned and told myself I would make it someday. Little did I know that an old coworker saw the same pin and decided to send I Hart Cupcakes an email asking if I could make it for her sister’s Bridal Shower. You’ve heard in once and you’ll hear it again- ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE!

The cupcakes were Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting! To glamour up the dress a little more, I added Disco Dust (edible glitter) and pearls! Then to top it all up, Monica (who I haven’t seen since our days at good old TGI Fridays) found the pearls and brooch at a mall kiosk. As usual, the accessories were perfect and really pulled the whole design together!  The Bridal Shower was held at the Back Bay Bistro in Newport Beach. It was a stunning day to celebrate an equally stunning bride!

Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting to match the bows and hearts- Minnie Mouse would totally approve! These are my new favorite cupcakes! The best part was delivering these cuties to the birthday girl- seeing her excitement reminded me exactly why I love what I do!

Irvine Park is a great place to have a child’s birthday. Momma Sanchez probably was a party planner in her previous life, but the decorations were perfect! The Party Pavilion’ was decorated with black & white striped table cloths, balloons and printables from Anders Ruff Pirate Birthday theme (http://www.andersruff.com/).  All the Sanchez’s family and friends were bound to have a fun time between the inflatable giant slide, taco man, Pirate piñata and of course, cupcakes!

The cupcakes were all ‘kid-friendly’ including Peanut Butter and Jelly Cupcakes (Vanilla filled with Strawberry Jam topped with Peanut Butter Buttercream), Black & White Cupcakes (Chocolate Cupcakes with Vanilla Buttercream) and Oreo Madness (Vanilla Cupcakes with crumbled Oreo’s topper with Cream Cheese Frosting). Party goers had nothing but fabulous things to say about the Oreo Madness Cupcakes. One girl even said on Facebook, “PS that Oreo cupcake was divine!! The BEST cupcake I have ever had.” Oh that just made my day!

As for decorations, Breanna gave me creative freedom on coming up with any and all fun ideas I could think of for Maverick’s cupcakes! Just so you all know when I’m given creative freedom on a job, I tend to go overboard….no pun intended! Along with the amazing Cupcake Toppers and Flags created by Ander’s Ruff (http://www.andersruff.com/), I made special fondant pieces including: Treasure Chest, Pirate Hat, Swords and Treasure Map! Everything came together perfectly!
